Before learning Jyotish from Sattva Yoga Academy in India, I had never been interested in Astrology. I know that sounds nutty, but it’s true!
It never resonated with me, I didn’t need to know people’s signs. I would read my own zodiac sign description and not feel sparks.
Then one of my mentors mentioned she was giving Jyotish Birth Chart Readings and for whatever reason (probably because I had just had a baby and was going through a minor identity crisis), I thought, “Oooooh, I need to do that.”
It was so amazing, thorough, and spot on. Honestly, I was blown away and immediately wanted to learn more. And more. And more.
I tried looking things up online but that didn’t work well, it still didn’t make sense.
I tried reading books and that just made me feel terrible and afraid for my life.

Course Structure
This Course will run for 12 weeks (about 3 months).
Starting August 10th, we will meet once each week for a 3 hour lesson. The time for this session will be determined based on everyone’s availability after sign ups close. (Current tentative time is Sunday 4 - 7pm)
Sunday evening sessions will cover the knowledge you need to read birth charts
During the week, you will have the option to join a breathwork class to tune into and profoundly understand planetary energy within your own body and energy (Wednesdays at 4:30pm pacific).

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When will we meet?
A: Right now the plan is to meet once weekly. The tentative time is Sunday evenings 4 - 7 pm pacific time. Wednesdays at 4:30 - 5:30pm you will have an opportunity to participate in breathwork practice that corresponds to the weekly lesson. Wednesday breathwork practice is optional and recordings will be made available, however, I do recommend practicing the breathwork on your own in order to fully understand each planetary energy. If the Sunday and Wednesday weekly meeting time does not work for you, please let me know and I can coordinate a different time that works for everyone.
Q: From what Jyotish tradition will I be learning?
A: You will be using the Lahiri Ayanamsa for calculation of equinoxes (don’t worry, the software calculates it for you), which is the most standard and widely used system. You will also learn the Vimshottari Dasha system for looking at timelines.
Q: Is this Course right for me?
A: This course is perfect for you if you are fascinated by astrology or have had your birth chart read and want to be able to read it yourself on a regular basis at a beginner’s level! It’s also perfect if you want to learn how to read a birth chart but don’t need to dive into much detail about ephemeris calculations. If you do want to understand all the mathematical calculations behind the birth charts, it may be better to look for a course that specializes in that! Also, this is a beginner’s course, not an advanced course. We will not be covering nakshatras, bhavatam bhavam, medical astrology, couple’s astrology, how to calculate the timelines, or planetary yogas.
Q: I don’t know anything about astrology at all. Can I still take the course?
A: Absolutely! This course is specifically designed for beginner’s.
Q: Do I need to practice yoga or breathwork in order to take this course?
A: No, you do not need any yoga background to take this course, only an interest in learning and practicing.
Q: I just want to learn astrology for myself. I don’t want to read birth charts for other people! Is that okay?
A: Yes! We will practice reading other people’s chart for knowledge purposes but you can do whatever you like with this knowledge moving forward.
Q: What will I be able to do after completing this course?
A: After completing this course, you will be able to look at a birth chart and be able to provide solid feedback about the person’s karmic patterns, their strengths, struggles, soul longings, aligned career options, soul purposes, energetic timeline and so much more.
Q: What happens if I miss a lesson?
A: All classes are recorded so you may watch the recordings if you need to miss a lesson. Every lesson will contain critical information for reading a birth chart and I highly recommend watching the recordings if you miss class. You will have lifetime access to the recordings! That being said, you will get the most out of the course if you are able to attend most of the lessons. I would recommend not missing more than 3 lessons if possible.
